Bee + Pink Flower – encaustic art 4 x 4
For the love of bees…
I designed this small series to celebrate the importance of bees in our world! Not only are they a significant pollinator for plants (which our ecosystem depends on), the honey they produce is highly valuable for food and medicinal use. The beeswax they create is beneficial for skincare products, candles, sealing wood or other materials, medicinal purposes and even art, as you can see :)
This piece has been created with hot encaustic wax which is 85% beeswax, and a few bee friends were nearby when I created it (bees love beeswax!). Each piece in the series is one of a kind and includes my original hand-drawn watercolor and ink illustration sealed into the wax. The surface is then embellished with metallic oil paint and pastel for a shimmering effect. Each piece is one of a kind and signed on the back.
Camellia Giclee Print 8″ x 10″
~Camellia Sasanqua~
One of my favorite blooms, Camellia is always a show stopper with it’s profuse blooms. Sasanqua Camellias, depending on the cultivar, are fall and winter-blooming which makes them even more precious. Known to symbolize love and affection, happiness, luck, and in some cases a health tonic, it represents a perfect spiral in its unfolding.

Emergence – Winter’s Song Giclee Print 8″ x 10″
~Winter’s Song~ In the depths of winter it is still. The solitude of the garden beckons. It is spiritual, contemplative. In these quiet moments, new ideas emerge- new seeds to plant for the coming year! The blank canvas awaits. The everlasting frame endures, giving birth to new life once again. In the background of this piece is the vector equilibrium, proposed by Buckminster Fuller and often described as the blueprint by which nature forms energy into matter. This is a time of rest and hibernation, but also when things germinate. What is calling you?
Evergreen Mandala

Little Whistler Giclee print 8″x 10″
I created Little Whistler (Northern Saw-whet Owl) for a show highlighting native species and conservation concerns on the Oregon Coast. The Northern Saw-whet is one of the smallest species of owls in North America and also across the Pacific Northwest (just 6-8 inches tall!). Its population is slowly declining. Habitat loss due to logging and other factors like climate impact its nesting/breeding grounds. Similar in size Io a Robin or Jay, they are known for their unique whistling sound that is like a saw being sharpened on a whetstone. Other than its shrill sound, this little raptor is charming. They’re hard to spot but like to sit low in the branches- look in deciduous woods and forests along the coast and inland. Also known as Acadian owl, Charlotte owl, Kirkland’s owl, Saw-flier, Sparrow owl and White-fronted owl. Like all owls, it is said to be symbolic of sight, wisdom and mystery!
Love and Peace Print
~Love and Peace to all~
The dove represents peace, grace and beauty across many cultures. This original mixed media painting was donated to benefit the Audubon Society, and prints are now available! 20% of each print sold will also be donated to Audubon.

~Timelessness, nature’s beauty and joyful moments~
At the coast, you can feel the pure essence of nature and its vastness- the power of the ocean, the majesty of overhanging cliffs, the longevity of weather-beaten trees and rooftops which have been there for generations. Cozy cottages are nestled next to one another in the hills. Kites fly in the sky, and dogs run and play gleefully. :)
